Captured ship: Le Fougueux (commander Jean du Vigneau, Le Chevalier du Vigneau).
History: a French warship (1100 tons, 64 guns, 497 men), [part of Admiral Desherbiers de l'Etenduère's squadron]; taken in fight on 14/25 October 1747 [at the second Battle of Cape Finisterre] in latitude 47° 30' by Rear-Admiral Sir Edward Hawke's fleet (HMS Hector (Thomas Stanhope commanding) took the surrender), and brought into Portsmouth.
