Captured ship: Le Fortuné of Bordeaux (master Michel Lacombe).
History: a French merchant ship (200 tons, 8 guns, 28 men) formerly La Marie Françoise, and before that a British ship taken by the French c.1745 and condemned in America; bound from Bordeaux to Quebec, laden with wine, brandy and bale goods; retaken in fight on 9/20 July 1747 off the mouth of the Bordeaux River by the privateers Cumberland (John Mauger commanding) and Guernsey (Daniel Perchard commanding), and brought into Guernsey.
