Description

Captured boats (five French fishing boats).

History: five French fishing boats taken on 6/17 June 1744 by the privateer Eagle Snow (John Bazely commanding), and brought into Dover:

  • Le St François et St Pierre (master Pierre Serré) (2 tons, 7 men), fishing out of Cayeux-sur-Mer; taken three leagues north of Cayeux.
  • Le St Pierre (master Pierre Le Filé) (3 or 4 tons, 6 men), fishing out of Bourg d'Ault; taken half-a-league off Saint-Valery-sur-Somme.
  • Le St Jean (master Pierre Courtin) (3 tons, 7 men), fishing out of Cayeux-sur-Mer; taken two leagues north-west of Cayeux.
  • Le St Philippe (master Michel Chretien) (4 tons, 6 men), fishing out of Bourg d'Ault; taken two leagues off Saint-Valery-sur-Somme.
  • Le St Louis (master David Gueudon) (4 tons, 8 men), fishing out of Le Tréport; taken six leagues from Le Tréport.
