Captured ship: Le Faucon of St Malo (commander Jacques de Russy).
History: a French privateer (180 tons, 12 carriage guns and 16 swivels, 128 men, formerly the English snow Falcon, taken in 1745 by the French privateer Two Crowns of St Malo), bound from St Malo on a cruise; retaken on 29 March / 9 April 1746 in latitude 50° 40', 15 leagues south of Cape Clear by HMS Captain (Thomas Fox commanding) in company with 9 other warships, and brought into Plymouth.
