Captured ship: the Franklin or Frankland (master William Seares, or, as a French prize, Pierre François Dollouné).
History: an English ship (80 tons, 8 men), bound from New England to Rotterdam, laden with fish and naval stores; taken on 17 September 1745 by a French privateer of Dunkirk at the Dogger bank, retaken on 19 September by HMS Hawk (Washington Shirley commanding), and brought into Great Yarmouth.
