History: a French merchant ship (130 tons, 17 men), bound from Newfoundland to Honfleur, laden with codfish and oil; taken on 6 September 1744 off the coast of Cornwall by the privateer Duke of Cornwall (Richard Caswell commanding), and brought into Falmouth.
