Captured ship: Le Fidèle (Le Fidel, Le Fidelle) (master Joseph Lagere).
History: a French merchant ship (150 tons, 10 guns, 37 men, 1 passenger) bound from Martinique to Bordeaux, laden with coffee, sugar and cotton; taken in fight on 22 January 1745 in latitude 45º30 by the privateer Townshend (Nicholas Lewis commanding), and brought into Bristol.
