Captured ship: Emanuel (master Conradt Frese).
History: a Bremen merchant ship (30 lasts) bound from Bremen to Limerick, laden with pipe staves and clapboards; taken on 18 June 1745 by three French privateers, retaken on 4 July by HMS Bridgwater (Lord George Graham commanding) , HMS Sheerness (William Gordon commanding) and HMS Ursula (John Fergusson commanding), and brought first into Ostend, and then into London.
