Captured ship: the Endeavour otherwise Good Endeavour of Hastings otherwise Le Bon Retour of Boulogne (master John Grayling of Hastings, resident in Boulogne). [First capture?].
History: ship, alleged smuggling vessel based at Boulogne claiming to be removing to England.
History: an English ship (30 tons, 6 men), bound from Hastings to Boulogne to collect the families of the owners, as part of their removal from France to England, but alleged to be smuggling arms and ammunition; taken on 10/21 June 1744 by the privateer Eagle Snow (John Bazeley commanding), and brought into Dover.
