Captured ship: Emanuel of Drammen (master Mads Blom).
History: a Danish [Norwegian] merchant ship (70 lasts, 12 men, 2 boys), bound from Bordeaux to Rotterdam, laden with wine, prunes, honey, vinegar, turpentine, preserved sausages, grapes, anchovies, seeds and some silk damask; taken on 11/22 April 1748 between Dungeness and 'Farley' [Fairlight] by the privateer Fox (Lawrence Squier commanding), and brought first into the Downs and then into Dover.
