Captured ship: Elverina otherwise Everina of Ballyshannon (master John Dickson, and as a French prize, Michiel van Houdegen).
History: an Irish merchant ship (brigantine, 60-80 tons, 8 men), bound from Ballyshannon to Campvere [Veere], laden with salmon and butter; taken on 23 March/3 April 1747 off the Isle of Wight by the French privateer Jalousie (Jacques Anquetil commanding), retaken on 24 March/4 April 1747 by HMS Arundel (John Reynolds commanding), and brought into Portsmouth.
