Description

Captured ship: L'Etoile du Nord (master Louis Marelle).

History: a French privateer (dogger, 80 tons, 4 carriage guns and 10 swivel guns thrown overboard before capture, 94 men), bound from Calais on a cruise; taken neat the Dogger Bank on 26 June/7 July 1745 by HMS Squirrel (Archibald Stuart commanding) and brought into Great Yarmouth.
