Description

Captured ship: De Enighet (master Leonhard Mortengren).

History: a Swedish ship (28 lasts, 4 men and 3 boys), bound from Warburg to St Martin via Southampton, laden with pitch and tar; taken on 21 April 1748 by the privateer Sackville (Peter Wood commanding), and brought into Dover.

  • [CP 1-CP 5]: standing interrogatories, three examinations, commissioners' affidavit;
  • [CP 6]: attestation and claim of the master;
  • [CP 7-CP 8]: attestation as to papers, abstracts and translations of the 11 ship's papers [these papers were restored].
