Captured ship: the Elizabeth of Montrose (master James Orkney).
History: a Scottish ship (70 tons, 4 men 3 boys), bound from Montrose to Christiansand, in ballast; taken on 14/25 April 1748 by the French privateer St Francis (Peter Allemes commanding) and ransomed, and retaken by the privateer Eagle snow (John Bazely commanding), and brought into Dover.
