Description

Captured ship: Die Einigkeit of Wismar (master Hans Joachim Mentz).

History: a Swedish merchant ship (65 lasts, 5 men, 2 boys), bound from Bordeaux to Amsterdam, laden with wine, honey, almonds, prunes, Hungary water and other goods; taken on 4/15 April 1748 between Dover and Calais by the privateer Prosperous (Solomon Correar commanding), and brought into Dover.

  • [CP 1-CP 5]: standing interrogatories, three examinations, commissioners' affidavit;
  • [CP 6]: attestation and claim of the master, April 1748;
  • [CP 7-CP 9]: 3 sets of 7 attestations, affidavits and translations taken and sealed by the ruling authorities of Amsterdam and Hamburg, and brought into court in May 1748;
  • [CP 10-CP 11]: attestation as to papers, and abstract and translation of the 22 ship's papers [these papers were restored].
