Captured ship: La Duchesse de Penthievre of Calais (commander Gabriel Audibert, killed in the action).
History: a French privateer (80 tons, 8 carriage guns + 10 swivels, 49 men); taken in fight on 19 / 30 December 1745 in Calais road by the privateer York (William Jennings commanding), and brought into Blakeney. The crew were held prisoner in Dover Castle.
