Description

Captured ship: Drie Gesusters (master Lammert Gosses).

History: a Dutch merchant ship (96 lasts, 2 swivel guns, 6 men), bound from Lemmer via Rugenwalde to Lorient, laden with timber for ship building; taken on 15/26 May 1747 about 13 miles west of Ushant by HMS Otter sloop (William Cust commanding), and brought into Plymouth.

Court Papers:

  • [CP 1-CP 5]: standing interrogatories, three examinations, commissioners' affidavit;
  • [CP 6-CP 7]: two attestations and claims;
  • [CP 8]: allegation;
  • [CP 9-CP 11]: attestation as to papers, and abstract and 7 translations of the 8 ship's papers.

Ship's Papers, in Danish, Dutch and French, marked SP A-SP H.
