Captured ship: De Drie Gekroonde Haaringen of Danzig (master Maenes Pieters).
History: a Danzig ship (38 lasts, 6 men), bound from Danzig to Dunkirk, laden with 190 officers, soldiers and recruits of General Count Leuwendall [Lowendahl], their provisions, baggage and arms, and also brandy; taken on 6/17 April 1744 in the road of Ostend by HMS Sapphire (Charles Saunders commanding), HMS Dover and two other naval ships, and brought into the Downs.
