Captured ship: Dove of Boston (master James Donaldson and then William Curtis and, as a French prize, Sohier de la Sandraia).
History: a New England merchant ship (200 tons, men), bound from Boston, [Massachusetts] to London, laden with pitch, tar, oil, rice, staves and bees wax; taken on 6/17 January 1746 about 60 leagues west of the Lizard by the French privateer Le Travigney of St Malo (Pierre Ruat de la Motte commanding), retaken on 13/24 January off the coast of Brittany by the privateer Guernsey of Guernsey (David Pinaux commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
