Description

Captured ship: Le Double Griffon of St Jean de Luz, formerly Le Griffon (master Betrico Diparraguerre or Diparaguere).

History: a French privateer (New England built, 120 tons, 12 guns, 77 men), bound on a cruise; taken on 11/22 August 1744 by the privateers Greyhound (David Jenkins commanding) and Triumph (Ephraim Cooke commanding), and brought into Falmouth.
