Captured ship: Dolly of Dartmouth (master Thomas Pulling).
History: an English merchant ship (a New England-built brigantine, 100 tons, 10 men, and 70 passengers taken on at Waterford), bound from Dartmouth to the Bay of Bulls, Newfoundland, laden with beef, pork and provisions at Waterford; taken on 21 April/2 May 1747 west of Cape Clear by the Spanish privateer St Barbara y St Antonio y Begona (master Francisco de Larrea) which was itself taken on 19/30 May 1747 by the privateer Duke of Cumberland (Matthew Combe commanding), but was ransomed for £300.
