Description

Captured ship: Les Deux Frères et la Soeur (master François Luneaud / François Luneau).

History: a French merchant ship (160 tons, 19 men), bound from Saint-Domingue to Bordeaux, laden with sugar, indigo and cotton; taken on 9/20 September 1744 a hundred leagues off the Lizard by the privateer Warren Galley (John Huddy commanding), and brought into Exeter.

  • [CP 1-CP 5]: standing interrogatories, three examinations, commissioners' affidavit, allegation, attestation as to papers;
  • [CP 6]: abstract and translation of 26 ship's papers.

Ship's Papers: nos. 1 to 26 (no. 24 is a journal of the voyage).

[Decision: condemned as prize, 23 October 1744]
