Description

Captured ship: Les Deux Frères (master Jacques Gibault).

History: a French merchant ship (50 tons, 5 men), bound from Rochefort to Brest, laden with 45 tuns of red wine; taken on 20 February/3 March 1745 by the privateer Industry (John Le Gros commanding) and brought into Jersey.

  • [CP 4]: allegation;
  • [CP 5]: covering letter accompanying the ship's papers;
  • [CP 6]: wrapper for ship's papers, briefly listing (incidentally) the progress of the appeals relating to several ships: La Fortune, St Joseph, Duke of Kingston, La Vierge Marie, Jufrouw Catharina, L'Ocean, La Damme Jeanne, Hoffnung, La Vierge de la Misericorde, St Jan of Flushing, and Princessa;
  • [CP 7]: abstract and translation of the ship's papers nos. 1 to 7.
