Description

Captured ship: Les Deux Amis (master Jacques Baizeau / Jacques Bezeau / Jacques Boizeau (formerly François Pinceur).

History: French merchant ship (30 tons, 5 men) bound from Bayonne to Nantes laden with tar; taken on 6/17 April 1747 four leagues from Belle Isle by the privateer Guernsey (Daniel Perchard commanding) and brought into Guernsey.

  • [CP 1]: two examinations;
  • [CP 2]: allegation;
  • [CP 3]: letter in lieu of commissioners' afidavit and in lieu of attestation of papers;
  • [CP 4]: abstract and translation of the 15 ship's papers.

Ship's Papers: numbered 1 to 15 (no. 6 is a playing card).

[Decision: condemned as prize, 15 June 1747]
