Captured ship: La Charlotte of Le Havre (master Jean Pierre le Loup).
History: a French privateer (English-built, 100 tons, 10 carriage guns, 110 men); taken in fight on 24 April/5 May about 15 leagues north of Ostend by HMS Lys (Thomas Knowler commanding) and HMS Weazle (Hon Samuel Barrington commanding), and brought first into Flushing, and then into Dover.
