Captured ship: Le Charles Auguste of St Malo (master Servan François De La Motte du Portail).
History: a French merchant ship, with a letter of marque (250 tons, 9 guns, 55 men), bound from Cap François, Saint Domingue to Nantes and Paimboeuf, laden with sugar, indigo, and coffee; taken on 23 June/4 July 1747 in 47º20 by HMS Hampton Court (Savage Mostyn commanding), and brought into London.
