Captured ship: La Catherine or St Catherine of Rouen (master Jean Guillaume Fortin of Quillebeuf).
History: a French coasting vessel (60 tons, 5 men), bound from Rouen to Issigny, laden with boxes of medical drugs, glass, iron pots, starch, oil and burr stones; taken on 29 August/9 September 1745 (having been run aground at the mouth of the River of Caen, and abandoned by the crew) by the privateer Resolute Drake of Jersey (Thomas Hornsby commanding), and brought first into Guernsey, and then into Jersey.
