Captured ship: Caiemand of Bordeaux (master Thomas Compte).
History: a French merchant ship (a brigantine, 100 tons, 19 men) bound from Bordeaux to Saint Domingue, laden with wine, iron hoops and other goods; taken on 21 March/1 April 1748 about 6 leagues from Cape Ortugal by the privateer Lightning (John Mauger commanding), and brought into Guernsey.
