Captured ship: Caesar otherwise Cezar of Bayonne (master Charles Dubrocq).
History: a French merchant ship (a brigantine, 80 tons, 8 men, 3 passengers), formerly La Gracieuse, bound from Bayonne and San Sebastian to Oporto laden with iron, wool, oars, handkerchiefs and other goods; taken on 2/13 May 1743 off Cape Machichaquan [Machichaco] by HMS Leopard (George, Lord Forrester commanding) and brought into Spithead, and then into the River Thames.
