Captured ship: Cornelia (master Jan Nimmi or Niminy or Nimmy [a Scot]).
History: a Dutch merchant ship (a snow, 75 tons, English built, 6 men and a boy), bound from Le Havre to Rotterdam, laden with sugar, rum, wine, calavanches [chickpeas] and 620 bundles of a dried grass called wouwe [weld or dyers rocket]; taken on 6/17 April 1748 off Dungeness by the privateer Sackville (Peter Wood commanding), and brought into Dover.
