Captured ship: Chatfield Jolliffe of Poole (master William Reed, and after the capture Bernard Debarbour).
History: an English merchant ship (a brigantine), bound from Carolina to Poole, laden with skins, sugar, pitch, tar, rice, lignum vitae and pipe staves; taken on 20 June / 1 July 1746 in latitude 49ºN by the French privateer La Junon, retaken on 27 June / 8 July 1746 in latitude 44ºN by the privateer Sheerness (William Richardson commanding), and brought into Bristol.
