Captured ship: Le Chasseur of Nantes (master Etienne Dangla).
History: a French merchant ship (22 men) bound from Leogane, Saint Domingue to Nantes, laden with sugar indigo, coffee, cotton; taken on 24 June/5 July 1747 45º30 about 40 leagues off La Rochelle by HMS Gloucester (Philip Durell commanding) and HMS Falcon (James Campbell), and brought into Plymouth.
