Captured ship: the Charming Sarah of Antigua (master Thomas German).
History: an English merchant ship (sloop, 60 tons, 7 men and one passenger), bound from Antigua to Dublin, laden with rum; taken on 9/20 May 1748 by the French privateer Lyon, and retaken on 19/30 May 1748 (abandoned by the French) off the Spanish coast in the Bay of Biscay by the privateer Caesar of Guernsey (Daniel Roland commanding) in company with the privateers Defiance of Guernsey, Hawk of Bristol and Hawk of London, and brought into Guernsey.
