Captured ship: La Charlotte of Le Havre (master Pierre François Emanuel Brebion).
History: a French merchant ship (150 tons, 4 guns, 6 swivel guns, 14 men) bound from Cap François, Saint Domingue to Le Havre, laden with sugar, coffee, indigo, hides and cotton; taken on 22 June/3 July 1747 by HMS Eagle (George Bridges Rodney commanding), and brought into the Downs, and then into the River Thames.
