Captured ship: La Catherine of Bayonne snow (master Jean Darreche or Darretche).
History: a French merchant ship (130 tons, 19 men, 4 passengers) bound from Bayonne for Martinique and Havana, laden with wine, flour, oil, rice, pitch, tar and iron; taken on 1 September OR 5 November 1745 in 44º or 47º about 200 leagues of Cape Clear by the privateers Boscawen (George Walker commanding) and Garland (Robert Taverner commanding), and brought into Madeira.
