Description

Captured ship: Le Castor frigate (Louis Augustin d'Essouville commanding).

History: a French naval ship (300 tons, 28 guns, 214 men), taken in fight on 25 October/5 November 1747 at 48º4 by HMS Hampshire (Lionel Daniel commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
