Description

Captured ship: La Comtesse de Maurepas (master François Ferry).

History: a French brigantine, bound from Rotterdam to Dieppe, laden with merchandise; taken in March 1744 by HMS Dreadnought (Edward Boscawen commanding) and HMS Jersey (Henry Norris commanding), and brought into the River Thames.

  • [CP 2]: attestation as to papers, received by post from Boscawen;

Ship's Papers, numbered 1-55, including mail in transit from Rotterdam to Dieppe.
