Captured ship: Le Chasseur of Le Havre, a billander, (master Charles Macquet).
History: a French privateer (30 tons, 2 cannon, 6 swivel guns, 31 men), formerly the Bold Hunter (a French-built ship sold to England but captured); taken on 12/23 June 1747 off the Needles, Isle of Wight, by HMS Flamborough (Jervis Henry Porter commanding), and brought into Portsmouth.
