Captured ship: Catherina Elizabeth otherwise Catrina Elizabet of Middelburg (master Nicholaas Robijn or Nicholas Robyn).
History: a Dutch merchant ship (130 Dutch lasts, 16 guns) with a French master, bound from Dunkirk to Bordeaux, laden with pantiles, bricks, coal, tin, pitch, tar, white lead and tobacco piipes, but suspected of contraband; taken on 18/29 April 1747 between Dover and Calais by the privateer Endeavour (Edward Croswell commanding), and brought into Dover.
