Captured ship: La Comtesse de la Marck of Morlaix (master Nicholas Anthon.)
History: a French privateer (20 tons, 2 cannon, 8 swivel guns, 28 men), built at Kinsale and seized there by French prisoners of war about 18 months previously; taken on 24 August/4 September 1746 six leagues off Salcombe by HMS Dispatch (Henry Barnsley commanding), and brought into Portsmouth.

Ship's papers numbered SP 1-SP 35, including ransom bills at SP 7-SP 8 of the Neptune (master Lewis Jones) and at SP 9 the Falmouth (master Jacques Robion); SP 5 and SP 27 are missing.
