Description

Captured ship: Christina and Hendrina (master Cornelis Wopken Vos otherwise Cornelius Wopkes Vos).

History: a Dutch merchant ship (38 Dutch lasts, 5 men, 1 boy) formerly De Jonge Rienk (the Young Ring), bound from Bilbao to Amsterdam, laden witrh wool, iron, snuff, chestnuts and a case of books; taken on 25 October 1747 south of the Isle of Wight by the privateer George Dogger (William Freebairn commanding), and brought into Studland Bay.

  • [CP 1-CP 3]: standing interrogatories, three examinations [one document] taken at Poole, commissioners' affidavit;
  • [CP 4]: attestation and claim;
  • [CP 5]: attestation as to papers;
  • [CP 6-CP 9]: four abstracts and translation of some of the 79 ship's papers [which were restored].

[Decision: restored as a Dutch ally, 8 December 1747]
