Description

Captured ship: La Catherine of Pouligain (master Jacques Hervo).

History: a French coasting barque (40 tons, 7 men), bound from Bayonne to Nantes, laden with rosin and goat skins; taken on 13 May 1745 about 2 leagues of Olonne by the privateer Rochester (Joseph Cockburn commanding), and brought into Guernsey.

  • [CP 4-CP 5]: attestation as to papers, and abstract and translation of the 2 ship's papers.
