Description

Captured ship: Le Bon, formerly the English Bond or Bonn (master Jean Magescaz).

History: a French merchant ship (300 tons) bound from Bordeaux to Martinique, laden with wine, beef, butter, pork, flour and other small goods; taken on 2/12 August 1746 in latitude 45° by the privateer Blandford of Bristol (George Stonehouse commanding) and brought into Bristol.

  • [CP 6]: attestation as to the leaky state of the ship;
  • [CP 7]: allegation;
  • [CP 8-CP 9]: attestation as to papers, and abstract and translation of the 28 ship's papers.

Ship's papers, now numbered SP 1-SP 28.
