Captured ship: Le Benjamin of La Rochelle (master Michel François Camouin).
History: a French merchant ship, formerly the English ship Lyon condemned as a prize and sold at Martinique, (180 tons, 24 men) bound from Martinique to La Rochelle, laden with sugar, coffee, cocoa, 'camifis' [?] and cotton; taken on 28 February/11 March 1747 in latitude 46°36 about sixteen leagues off Belle Isle by the privateer Adventure of Guernsey (John Beal commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
