Description

Captured ship: La Bellone of Boulogne (master Oudard Paillet).

History: a French privateer (6 carriage guns, 8 swivel guns), 46 men; taken on 29 April/May 1747 a league off Portland by HMS Advice (Richard Haddock commanding), and brought into the Downs.

  • [CP 1-CP 5]: standing interrogatories, three examinations taken at Deal, commissioners' affidavit;
  • [CP 6]: allegation,
  • [CP 7-CP 8]: attestation as to papers, and abstract and translation of the 3 ship's papers.

Ship's Papers, now numbered SP 1-SP 3.
