Captured ship: La Bazille or La Basile (master Nicolas Elie Meé).
History: French merchant ship (120 tons, 4 guns, 18 men) bound from Bordeaux to La Rochelle to take the convoy to Martinique, but having been chased off course set off for Martinique alone, laden with wine, beef, pork, flour etc; taken on 5/16 September 1747 30 leagues west of the Ile de Ré by the privateer Adventure of Guernsey (John Luce commanding), and brought into Guernsey.
