Captured ship: Bath Galley of Bristol, formerly Minerva or Rising Sun, (master George Nicholson before the capture).
History: an English merchant ship (200 tons, 22 men, 1 passenger), bound from Bristol to Jamaica, laden with provisions, iron ware etc, all of which original cargo was still aboard when retaken, except for some bottled beer; taken in fight on 1/12 March 1747 at 49° by the French privateer Dauphin of Boulogne , and retaken on 11/22 March at 44° by the privateers Saltash (George Powell commanding) and Warren (Charles Wilson commanding), and brought into Falmouth.
