Captured ship: Santa Barbara y Santa Anna (master Eugenio Bernardino, sometimes using the fictitious name Francisco da Costa as he had a French pass for that name).
History: a Portuguese merchant ship (70 tons, 7 men), (formerly the Industry of Topsham, taken by France, condemned and sold at Morlaix), bound from Morlaix to Lisbon, laden with linen cloth, hides and paper; taken on 19/30 March 1748 in latitude 45°30 by the privateer Hawk (Joseph Buckley commanding), and brought into Bristol.
