Description

Captured ship: De Boode Galley (master Jilles de Bock).

History: a Dutch merchant ship (150 tons) bound from Grandville to Rotterdam, laden with tobacco and sugar; taken on 30 March/10 April 1748 by the privateers St Michael (George Cuningham commanding), Sackville (Peter Wood commanding), and Hunter (Wilson Smith commanding), and brought into the Downs.

  • [CP 6]: claim;
  • [CP 7]: allegation;
  • [CP 8-CP 10]: attestation as to the 17 ship's papers, and abstracts and translations of the ship's papers [which were restored].

[Decision: restored as a Dutch ally, 23 June1748]
