Captured ship: Les Bons Enfants of Nantes (master Jean Laurent Robart or Robard).
History: a French merchant ship (150 tons, 10 guns), bound from Saint Domingue to Nantes in a convoy of 6 ships, laden with sugar, coffee and indigo; taken in fight on 12/23 August 1744 by HMS Hampton Court (Savage Mostyn commanding) and the privateer Prince Charles (Charles Gwynn commanding), and brought into Portsmouth.
